Names of Top Docs and Shining Star Award winners appear on special plaques in the main hallway of the Hospital.

Cheboygan Memorial Hospital is proud of the many talented and dedicated members of our staff. The CMH Workforce Excellence Committee has implemented two programs to help recognize these efforts.
Each month, a different deparment is highlighted and featured. One employee from that department is selected by their peers as the 'Shining Star'.
Also, every other month, the entire CMH staff gets to vote on the 'Top Doc' Award, and a traveling trophy is presented. Those recently honored are pictured below.

David Oram, MD was named CMH Top Doc for April, 2010. Dr. Oram is a beloved Family Practice physician in the Health Center and has been part of the Cheboygan medical community for almost 15 years.
Anna Ash was voted the Shining Star for April, 2010. She has been with CMH since 2006 and currently works as Practice Support with Dr. Borgerding's office in the Health Center.
Val Leveque of Patient Access was named CMH Shining Star for March, 2010. She has been registering patients at CMH since 1985. Val is pictured on the left, along with Danyl Peters, Manager of Patient Access at CMH.
Patti DeGroff (Food Services) was selected as the CMH Shining Star for February, 2010. She is pictured (front left) with her fellow workers after receiving the award. Patti has worked for CMH since 2004
Catherine Zimmerman, D.O. was presented with the Top Doc Award, February 1, 2010. She has been part of the CMH Medical Staff since 1993.
Rocky Newman was selected as the Shining Star for January, 2010. He is a systems analyst for the Hospital's Information Technology Department. Rocky has worked at CMH since 1988.
Gloria Duffiney, RN (Obstetrics) was selected as the CMH Shining Star for December, 2009. She has worked for CMH since May of 1984.
Roderick Baltzer, D.O. was named CMH Top Doc on December 2, 2009. He has been a general practice physician in the Cheboygan community for 36 years. He also specializes in gerontology and sports medicine. He was the team physician for Cheboygan Chiefs' football for 35 years. Dr. Baltzer has also been named "Best Physician" the last two years in the Cheboygan Daily Tribune's People's Choice Award balloting.
Renee St. Clair was named the CMH Shining Star for November, 2009. She is part of the staff in Dr. Baltzer's clinic working as Practice Support.
Kim Hovey was named CMH Shining Star for October, 2009. Kim has been a Purchasing Agent at CMH since 2002. She has also worked in the Dietary Department.
Donald Watson, D.O. was named CMH Top Doc on September 24, 2009. He is the current President of the CMH Medical Staff. Dr. Watson has been with CMH since 2002, working as both an Internist and Hospitalist.
Don Barrette, Rph from the Pharmacy was named the CMH Shining Star for September, 2009. Don has been part of the CMH family for decades. He used to write an "Ask the Pharmacist" column for the Good Health Gazette.
Tammy Watson of Environmental Services was named the CMH Shining Star for August, 2009. She received several nominations from he department describing her as a great team player, having such a positive attitude and how valuable she is to CMH. Tammy has worked at CMH since October, 1981. She is pictured with the Shining Star Award and James McNamee, Director of Facilities & Environmental Services.
August, 2009 - Linh Vi, MD was presented the Top Doc Award for being such an asset to CMH. Those who nominated him cited his helpful postive nature. He has been a Pathologist at CMH since August, 2003. Dr. Vi has also been instrumental in helping coordinate continuing medical education programs for the Medical Staff.
The CMH Shining Star for July, 2009 is Bill Stonhouse, RN. He is a Registered Nurse in Urgent Care. Bill has worked for CMH since 2003.
Dr. Mark Drogowski, M.D. was given the Top Doc Award on June 2, 2009. Dr. Mark has been a Family Practice physician with CMH for almost 20 years. Dr. Mark was nominated by several staff members for his compassionate care and great relationships he has bulit between CMH and the community.
Raymond Curtis was named the CMH Shining Star for June, 2009. He works as a Radiology Clerk in the Diagnostic Imaging Department and has been with CMH for over 16 years. Everbody loves Raymond!
April, 2009 - Billie Morell, RN (right) receives the Shining Star Award certificate from Shari Schult, Executive Director of Acute Care Services. Billie has been with CMH since 2006 and currently works in the Medical/Surgical unit on South Wing.
April, 2009 - Kurt Grebe, D.O. was named TOP DOC for his outstanding level of care with his patients in ECU.
Dorothy Piotrowski, Medical Assistant at Women's & Children's Health Services was chosen as the Shining Star for March, 2009. Dorothy has spent more than 20 years working for CMH.
John K. Everett, D.O. received the CMH Top Doc award in February, 2009. Dr. Everett is a Family Practice Physician at the Indian River Medical Clinic. He has been part of the CMH Medical Staff for over 20 years.
Laura Burrer, Long Term Care was selected as the CMH Shining Star for January, 2009. Laura is pictured with Mike Grisdale, Director of Public Relations.
Mary Crusoe, Laboratory received the CMH Shining Star for December, 2008. Mary (left) has worked at CMH for over 20 years.
Francis Darr, MD was named the Top Doc at CMH in December of 2008. He is a well-liked and well-respected pediatrician at Women's & Children's Health Services in the Lincoln Bridge Plaza.
Katalin Szloboda, M.D. was the first physician recognized in the CMH TOP DOC program in October 2008. She was very surprised when it was announced in front of a large crowd in the cafeteria. Dr. Szloboda has great interactions with her staff and patients in the Internal Medicine Clinic.
Phyllis Tule, RN from the Intensive Care Unit was named the CMH Shining Star for May, 2009. She has been with CMH since 1988.
