CMH Auxiliary
Since 1958, the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has played a very key role in helping the Hospital build a solid relationship with the community. They serve as wonderful ambassadors, and successful fund-raisers. The CMH Auxiliary is currently more than 200 members strong.
The Auxiliary operates the Canopy Gift Shoppe located at the entrance of the Cheboygan Memorial Health Center. Other key fund-raisers for the Auxiliary include:
- "Tag Day", held in early August. Members collect donations at different business locations throughout the community.
- "Tree of Lights", held early on in the holiday season, usually the first week of December. Names of those honored and/or remembered by a donation are displayed on a tree in the Hospital's main lobby.
- "Celebrations". Each year, unique entertainment events are offered in homes and locations throughout the region. Hosts cover all expenses while proceeds go to the Auxiliary.
- "Book Sales", "Bath & Beauty Product Sales" and a "Holiday Greens & Bake Sale" are other traditional fund-raisers held during the year.
Besides tirelessly helping raise money for Hospital projects, the group hosts six general luncheon meetings a year. They also host an annual Employee Appreciation Tea in May during National Hospital Week. Currently, the CMH Auxiliary also coordinates the LifeLine emergency alert home communication system. Auxiliary Prayer
Almighty God and Heavenly Father of mankind, bless we pray Thee, our endeavor in the respective hospitals in which we strive to bring comfort and hope to all who are in distress of mind or body.
Guide us so that we may use the privilege given to us to help the aged, the ill and very young - with generosity, with discretion and with gentleness.
Vive us the strength to labor diligently, the courage to think and to speak with clarity and conviction, but without prejudice or pride.
Grant us, we beseech Thee, both wisdom and humility in directing our united efforts to do for others only as Thou would have us do. Amen.
